What's Included in the Price

Diamond creation Included
The complete HPHT hair-to-diamond process — carbon extraction, purification, 50-day crystal growth. This is the core of what we do.
Jewellery setting Included
The finished 0.57ct diamond is cut, polished, and set into your chosen design in 18K white or yellow gold. No additional setting fee.
Collection kit Included
A secure, pre-addressed collection kit is posted to your NZ address. It contains everything you need to safely return your hair sample to us.
NZ delivery Included
The finished jewellery is returned by insured courier to any address in New Zealand. No shipping charge regardless of your location.
Return of unused hair Included
Any hair remaining after the carbon purification stage is carefully packaged and returned to you alongside the finished diamond.
GST Included
All listed prices include New Zealand GST. There is no additional tax applied at checkout.
GIA / IGI certification Optional extra
Gemological certification by GIA or IGI is available on request at an additional cost. Contact us for current certification pricing — it can be arranged before or after your order.

How much does a memorial diamond cost in New Zealand?

Silmaril offers two all-inclusive designs: The Guardian at NZ$1,980 (0.57ct in 18K white gold) and The Warmth at NZ$2,650 (0.57ct in 18K yellow gold). Both prices include the diamond, jewellery setting, NZ collection kit, and insured delivery. GST is included.

What is included in the price?

Everything you need: the full hair-to-diamond creation process, 0.57ct HPHT lab-grown diamond, 18K gold jewellery setting, secure NZ collection kit posted to you, insured courier return delivery, and return of any unused hair. The only optional addition is GIA or IGI gemological certification.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. The listed price is fully all-inclusive for NZ customers. The sole optional extra is GIA or IGI certification, which is available on request. Contact us for current certification pricing.

Is the price the same for human hair and pet hair?

Yes. There is no difference in price between human and pet hair orders. The Guardian is NZ$1,980 and The Warmth is NZ$2,650 for any customer, human or pet.

Are prices in NZD and do they include GST?

Yes. All prices are in New Zealand dollars and are fully inclusive of GST. There are no additional taxes applied at checkout.

Does the price include delivery?

Yes. The collection kit is posted to your NZ address and the finished jewellery is returned by insured courier — both at no additional charge, anywhere in New Zealand.

Is a deposit required?

Full payment is made at the time of ordering via Stripe. If you have specific questions about payment arrangements, email [email protected] before placing your order.

How much does GIA or IGI certification cost?

Certification pricing varies with laboratory fees and the specific certificate requested. Contact us for current pricing. Certification can be arranged at any point — before or after your order is placed.

Why is Silmaril cheaper than overseas providers?

Silmaril is a New Zealand studio. By operating locally, we eliminate international shipping costs, import duties, and intermediary margins — all of which overseas providers pass on to NZ customers. Our prices are typically 40–50% lower than international providers.
